Held At Sotheby’s Auction on October 13th Hosted by Chef Michael White & Fashion Designer Nicole Miller

Ripened fruits and fresh seasonal fare – the bountiful goodness they majestically personify has long been romanticized by artisans the world over ever since the beginning of time.

Today, our perceptions of modern and contemporary art, relying sharply on deconstructed forms and shapes that seem to eclipse time and space; images that are inextricably linked to our early interpretations of art we carry through our cognitive memory. Where would Cézanne, Van Gogh, Picasso or for that matter Warhol’s mantle on the hierarchy of art be, without their awe inspiring canvases of lusty pears, love struck apples, cubist oranges and perfectly shocking bananas? Our foodie lives would be pretty empty without these images etched in our brain.

When two of New York City’s most prestigious passions collide: fine dining and art buying, it’s cause for glittering applause. And when you add legendary chef Michael White and iconic fashion designer Nicole Miller, along with twenty-five of New York City’s finest chefs you have a spectacular recipe for an unforgettable evening. The Art of Food will be held at Sotheby’s Auction House, on Tuesday October 13, 2015.

Hosted by chef Michael White and international fashion designer Nicole Miller, the evening promises to be a unique, edible art experience. Each chef will prepare unique mouthwatering dishes, artfully inspired by works in the upcoming Sotheby’s auction. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to Citymeals-on-Wheels.
