Caffe Vivaldi- 32 Jones Street-One of my favorite places to go for a romantic night out in the village with my husband. Live music, delicious food and drinks. Vivaldi’s has it all. It is a warm and inviting place in the middle of a bustling city. A throwback to a different time. The menu offers a wide range of food including fish, chicken & pasta dishes. All food products are purchased locally from places such as Ottomanelli’s , Raffetto’s , Joes dairy (RIP the NYC location – They live somewhere in New Jersey now) and the Lobster place. One of my favorite dishes is the Wild Chilean Sea bass filet served in a light wine sauce with saffron infused basmati rice. When I prefer chicken to fish my other favorite is the Chicken Trieste, boneless chicken in herbed sauce with a side of basmati rice or garlic bread. Yummy! I’m getting hungry just writing about them. The homemade ravioli is also always an excellent choice fresh from Raffetto’s.  Vivaldi’s offers shitake mushroom, garden vegetable and 6 cheese if you are vegetarian or just not in the mood for meat. The ravioli can be topped with basil pesto or pink marinara sauce. If you have any room left for dessert I highly recommend a piece of the hazelnut chocolate mousse or apple pie. Along with the food being great Vivaldi’s has live music (jazz, blues etc). They also have open mic night on most Mondays which offers an array of local artists & poets. It is the perfect place to unwind with that special someone and have a night to remember in New York City.
