Recently Eat Up New York was invited to Atwood Kitchen and Bar for their first ever Atwood Social. Together with other instagrammers and foodies I got to try some of the awesome options on the menu at Atwood Kitchen and Bar.

Drinking at Atwood Kitchen and Bar

Gil, the Cocktail Curator at Atwood, hooked us up with some delicious drinks! My favorite was the Eastside cocktail composed of cucumbers, mint, lime and vodka. It was perfectly refreshing and boozy, the cure you need after a workday!

Eating at Atwood Kitchen and Bar

As for food, we got to try an assortment of the awesome eats at Atwood. My favorite dish of the night was the Tuna and Hamachi Tartar served on a crispy rice cake. The tartar was sooooo good, I can’t wait to head back to Atwood and have these again. The fish was flavorful and well seasoned and the rice cake was crispy on the outside but warm and chewy with sushi rice on the inside. They’re topped with a little salmon roe, soy reduction and baby wasabi, all of which help to round out the dish.

Another outstanding bite from the night was the Aged Provolone Stuffed Meatballs. They are so tender they totally fall apart in your mouth. The cheese doesn’t overwhelm the flavor of the veal but totally ensures a moist and creamy meatball.

Mac Attack at Atwood Kitchen and Bar

The mac and cheese at Atwood is totally unbelievable! Recently, Time Out New York rated Atwood Kitchen and Bar as the best mac and cheese in NYC and I have to agree! This mac and cheese is done just like mom would whip it up. There are some peas snuck in there, which ensures that the mac isn’t too heavy. It’s topped with seasoned breadcrumbs that add great texture and that homemade feel to the dish. If a delicious home-style mac and cheese is what you’re craving, head straight to Atwood!

Atwood totally opens up the front of their restaurant for the warmer weather, and even the upstairs opens up as well! They keep the tunes fun with lots of oldies and sing along jams, making it perfect for a casual midweek drink or a fun date night.
