O’Lunney’s Times Square Pub

A drink after work is ideal, especially after you’ve had a long day, so I wasn’t shocked when my coworkers invited me out at 3am. We just finished a closing shift and we are in the heart of Times Square so we decided to find a bar, after all we are in the city that never sleeps. We walked to 145 West 45th street, New York, New York which is a block down from our job and we saw a sign for a pub – O’Lunney’s Times Square Pub.

I’m not a drinker but I was starving and my choices were the pub or McDonalds, of course I choose the pub! We sat at the bar and I ordered a combo platter, while everyone else ordered drinks. They raved about the drinks they had which were the Twisted Lemonade, Cassidy’s Cross and Razz Matazz. We had a great time and the food was delicious.

Upon leaving I realized that my favorite thing about the pub was the environment. I love feeling the story behind a restaurant as soon as I walk in, and there was no way you wouldn’t feel the authenticity of its Irish culture. Along with that their menu is very extensive and the bar provides many drinks that appeal to your taste. Since I’m a creature of habit I tend to get the same thing every time, a Combo Platter, but on another day I went for lunch and decided to try the Chicken Curry with Rice. This has a creamy homemade spicy curry sauce & onions, sprinkled with peas and a side of mango chutney, and a nice refreshing glass of lemonade to go with it. This meal was Simple, Succulent and Scrumptious, and needless to say the combo platter was no longer my meal of choice. I also treated myself to a well-deserved Vienna Chocolate Mousse Cake, with chocolate sauce and whipped cream, amazing!

There’s been countless testimonies on the Classic New York Cheesecake, which seems to be a favorite among customers, I’ll definitely be trying that the next time I stop by O’Lunney’s Times Square. The pub is open Sunday to Saturday from 10am to 4am and the website www.olunneys.com has the menu and prices or any information you may need.
