Is it just me or is everyone else also experiencing a non-stop sweet tooth this winter? With all this cold weather and snow, all I’ve been wanting is something to sweeten my winter blues. But of course, as Eat Up’s Healthy Eater, my sweet tooth desires only the healthiest, guilt-free indulgences. To satisfy my sweet tooth I look towards my favorite New York based healthy food bloggers and see what homemade treats they’ve been creating.

Chef Chloe Coscarelli – Healthy Food Blog

My first list of healthy, but decadent dessert recipes comes from the adorable and fully vegan Chloe Coscarelli of Chef Chloe, (and keep an eye out for her vegan eatery, ByChloe, opening in Greenwich Village this summer!). Chloe’s Healthy Food Blog aims to bring delicious, meat-free dishes to the mainstream. Her decadent desserts and savory entrees prove that vegan cooking offers healthy choices without sacrificing flavor. You can’t go wrong with her chocolate layer cake, chocolate strawberry shortcake cupcakes, red velvet ice cream, or vegan cookie-dough truffles!

Healthy Food Blog Truffle Recipes

Clean Food Dirty City features plant-based recipes created by Lily, that help her navigate a healthy lifestyle in the colorful world of NYC. Her healthy food blog is full of beautiful photographs of her bright and always colorful bowls of nourishment. I believe these truffle recipes would be sublime as a Valentine’s Day treat or just a sweet, but healthy way to end every night. They would also be great as an easy treat to enjoy on the go even after the holiday.

The Eat.Real.Food NYC Healthy Food Blog

@EatRealFoodNYC brings New Yorkers her take on fresh, organic, REAL food. Heather, the woman behind the healthy food blog, strongly believes “everyone deserves access to fresh, local, organic produce. It’s the way nature intended”. I always crave everything on her instagram feed, and her site is beauty to be seen. Her recipes require simple and real ingredients. Most of them also require very little direction or effort, taking away the intimidation factor that usually comes with baking. Ok I’ll let you stop reading so you can go make this chocolate peanut butter cheesecake…(psst it’s healthy!)

Bringing Georgia to the NYC Healthy Food Blog Scene

The last, but definitely not least, healthy food blog is Sweet Potato Soul. I’ve been following her for a while now, even before moving to New York, and always loved receiving her endearing and inspiring newsletter. She has wonderful plant-based recipes, as well as fun videos she shares on her site. Her love of food and passion for living a healthy life shines through her whole site, especially through these Walnut Goji Berry Truffles. Yum.
